Are you passionate about communications, storytelling, and championing volunteering? Join us as a Volunteering Stories & Communications Volunteer!
Our volunteer platform, Community Southwark Volunteer, is the place where charities and community groups in Southwark can share their volunteering opportunities. We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help make it a real online hub for volunteering in Southwark by writing and sharing inspiring blog posts, create engaging content for social media, and helping spread the word about volunteering. You’ll promote volunteering roles, support newsletters, and contribute to major events like Volunteers’ Week and our annual Southwark Stars Awards.
It’s the perfect opportunity for someone who enjoys engagement, social media, or communications and wants to get more involved in the voluntary sector—on their own time, in their own way.
What you’ll do:
We welcome your ideas and interests, and you can shape the role around what you enjoy most! Some of the things you might get involved with include:
- Writing blog posts and content that inspire more people to volunteer in Southwark
- Managing and growing our Instagram and Facebook presence with engaging posts sharing new volunteering roles
- Interviewing and featuring amazing local volunteers in our ‘Volunteer Spotlight’ stories
- Helping create and send our newsletters packed with volunteering opportunities
- Supporting campaigns that promote our volunteer advice services
- Using simple analytics to see what volunteer roles are most popular—and why

We also hold many events on topics affecting our sector, which volunteers are welcome to attend.
