What is Members Hub

Our WhatsApp Members Platform is available to Community Southwark Member organisations. This space is designed for sharing knowledge, exchanging ideas, and fostering connections among Voluntary and Community organisations in Southwark. We are here to provide a platform for Members to build collaboration and peer support and share news regularly.   

What to Expect:

  • Support and Inspiration: Connect with other non-profits and find support when needed.  
  • Updates and Announcements: Stay in the loop with the latest news, events, and announcements from Community Southwark.

Community Guidelines

Please adhere to the following guidelines to ensure a positive experience for everyone.  

  1. Respectful Communication. Always use kind and respectful language. Avoid personal attacks, bullying, or sarcasm.
  1. Stay On-Topic. Focus on the group’s purpose (e.g., sharing resources, supporting each other).  Avoid spamming or irrelevant discussions.
  1. Supportive Environment. Offer help, encouragement, and positive feedback to others. Share useful resources, tips, or advice to benefit the group.
  1. Privacy Matters. Do not share anyone’s personal information without their consent. Keep group conversations confidential unless agreed otherwise.
  1. Avoid Conflicts. Handle disagreements calmly and constructively. Escalate serious issues to the admin if necessary.
  1. No Spamming or Promotions. Avoid sharing advertisements, chain messages, or unrelated links. If promotions are allowed, stick to group-specific guidelines.
  1. Clear Communication. Keep messages concise and to the point. Use emojis and tone carefully to avoid misunderstandings.
  1. Limit Forwards. Share verified information only. Avoid spreading rumours or fake news. Double-check the credibility of forwarded messages.
  1. Inclusive Participation. Encourage everyone to share their thoughts and participate. Avoid dominating conversations or excluding anyone.
  1. Admin Guidelines  
  • Follow any specific rules set by the group admins.
  • Reach out to admins with any concerns or clarifications on rules.
  • Report inappropriate conduct/content to the admin or follow the meta-reporting in WhatsApp. Improper conduct may include but is not exclusive to misinformation, bullying, racism, sharing inappropriate personal information, etc.
  • Community Southwark Complaints Policy
  • This is a closed Community, and details should not be shared.
  • While we always welcome engagement from all our audiences, we reserve the right to delete or report any messages we consider offensive, hateful or disrespectful to our community and brand.
  • We will block the contact if a user repeatedly goes against these guidelines. Individuals using WhatsApp need to comply with its terms of use and these guidelines.

We will not tolerate:  

  1. Hate speech that expresses prejudice against a particular group of people, especially based on race, gender, sexuality, etc.   
  2. Threatening or violent language -  
  3.  Indecent, sexually explicit or pornographic language or imagery   
  4. Libellous or defamatory posts about our staff, freelancers or patrons   
  5. Content that compromises Community Southwark and our reputation   
  6. Content which discloses confidential data or discloses sensitive data   
  7. Content that breaches copyright or data protection   
  8. Content which is inappropriate or graphic/adult content or uses offensive language

Community Southwark is committed to protecting and respecting the privacy of the people we work and interact with. Here’s a quick overview of how we handle your information:  

  1. When you engage with our community, we may collect and use certain information about you. This includes your name, phone number, and any other details you choose to share.   
  2. We use this information to enable you to join the WhatsApp community, ensure its smooth running, inform you about our activities, and provide support where needed.  
  3.  When you join our WhatsApp community, your phone number is not visible to the community. Only community admins and members within the same sub-group can see each other’s phone numbers. You can manage your phone number privacy in the community info tab.   
  4.  If you want to be removed from the WhatsApp group chat that Community Southwark manages, please message us, and we will remove your number as soon as possible.  
  5.  For more detailed information on how we handle your data, please refer to our Privacy Policy. This policy, together with any other documents referred to in it, sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you or that you provide to us will be processed by us.
