Our Community News section is designed to connect charities, community groups, and other not-for-profit organisations in Southwark with each other.
- Our website news section is best suited if you want to reach charities, community groups and other not-for-profit groups in Southwark. Please note that although community groups we work with can reach individuals in Southwark, our website is not always the best way to interact with individual residents.
- If you wish to reach individual residents, the Southwark Council ‘What’s on’ page may be more appropriate: https://www.southwark.gov.uk/events-culture-and-heritage/submit
- Please make sure you write your article as you wish it to appear on the website. It should give full information such as time and place, booking link, website, and contact information. Please add information about your organisation if appropriate.
- It should be easy to read for those who access the website. Avoid the use of acronyms and complicated language.
- Make sure it is addressed to someone reading the website and not for example, a copy of an email. You can see examples here: https://communitysouthwark.org/latest/community-news-jobs/
- Upload a JPG or PNG image of the logo or copyrighted picture relevant to the news item. Please ensure that the size of the image is 600 x 600 pixels. Images that do not fit this size may mean that your article cannot be published.
- We do not post posters. However, you can add a link for them if they are posted on another website.
- We make decisions about the appropriateness of news items and assess each one based on our purpose of supporting, connecting and advocating for the voluntary and community sector in Southwark. We may not always be able to publish your article.
- Once your article is on our website we will consider including it in our e-bulletins and social media, where appropriate.
Please note: It will take us 7 days minimum to action as we are a small team.
