Southwark Council would like to invite interested organisations to a market engagement event on Tuesday 28 October 2025 – for the commissioning of a new Carer Service.
Unpaid carers are people who provide care for a friend, family member, or neighbour who has an illness, disability, mental health concern, or who is older and needs extra support. Unpaid carers do not receive any payment from the council or a private company for this caring role.
The Carer Service will be located in Southwark and will offer a range of services for unpaid carers living in the borough. The Carer Service will aim to improve the wellbeing of unpaid carers, empower them in their caring role, and support them to access health and care services and other voluntary and community services that can offer support.
This event will be held online on MS Teams, from 2pm-3pm.
The purpose of this market engagement event is to:
• Provide an overview of the service model for the Carer Service.
• Explain how resident and stakeholder engagement has informed the service model.
• Explain key changes of the Procurement Act 2023.
• Share the tender process and timescales.
Southwark Council encourages any organisation that is interested in delivering the Carer Service contract to attend the event.
Please sign up to attend this event by visiting https://procontract.due-north.com and complete the form. Please quote the project number (on Procontract): DN770431.
