Before Christmas we sent a letter to Southwark Council on behalf of 31 Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) groups who receive Common Purpose grants, and the three which have Communities contracts requesting an uplift to help towards inflation costs that VCS have incurred during this crisis.
“We are delighted that the council has agreed to a 6% increase for next year’s Common Purpose grants from 1st April 2023. The amount received will depend on how much the grant is (as the uplift is a percentage of this), but it is on average £1,600 per group. The council will be in touch with in due course to confirm the details and should expect to see the additional amount in the grant payment at the start of April.”
