Do you want to gain experience in the charity sector? Would you like to help community groups in Southwark find more volunteers? Do you enjoy chatting with new people and providing advice?
As a Community Southwark Volunteer Advisor, you will offer a 30 minute telephone appointment to people where you will support them to find volunteering opportunities that match their interests and availability.
This is a unique role and an excellent way to gain experience in a local charity with great links to grassroot communities.

What will you do?
Make yourself familiar with local charities in Southwark and use the internet to search for recently promoted volunteer roles (1 hour per week)
Use our database system to record your appointments
Have 1:1 phone calls with up to 4 individuals during a morning or afternoon
Help individuals understand what volunteering is and understand how the appointment will work
Talk to attendees to understand their interests and motivations regarding volunteering
Suggest potential volunteering opportunities that attendees may be interested in
If necessary, support individuals to contact organisations via phone or email and/or support them with the completion of application forms.
