Voiceability are supporting local organisations that run activities and groups for young people to be more inclusive of disabilities.

We support a wide range of groups for young people, including after-school and holiday clubs. This includes small voluntary organisations, as well as schools and youth centres. We support groups that already work with young disabled people, though we are keen to work with groups who don’t have experience with disability.

We can provide 1-1 support with, accessibility advice and planning for your sessions, links to a range of free inclusivity training for staff, signposting, links to collaboration with other Southwark organisations and up to 800 pounds of funding. The funding is intended to have a long term impact on making your group more inclusive, and in the past has included: black-out tents, sensory toys, accessibility equipment, communication software, activity materials, specific training requests and learning opportunities.

We are working using a co-production method, which means we can work with you based on what your service in particular needs. We also offer co-design workshops with your young people to get their perspective on what makes a group inclusive. The project is also guided by our Speak Out Leaders who are Southwark based parents and young people who have insight based on their experience of what makes a successful and inclusive group.

If you would like to sign up, then please fill out the form on the link below where we can find out more about you, I’ll send you a follow up email to arrange a video meeting. Or email or call me directly to arrange a video call.

Voiceability also invite you to join our community network through our Speak, Share, Learn community days.
It is a space for activity providers to connect over the challenges facing young disabled people and find out about opportunities to make a more inclusive society for them.
This includes community-led conversations and training that aim to develop the skills and knowledge needed to create more inclusive relationships and environments. They will run every 2 months at Cherry Gardens School until March 2024. See more details and sign up below:
