Share The Cost Global: Pioneering Community Support Through Innovative Collaboration

Recently honoured with the Southwark Stars Award 2024 for Supporting Residents During the Cost-of-Living Crisis, Share The Cost Global mission resonates deeply across the borough.

In the heart of Southwark, Share The Cost Global (STCG) is making substantial strides in addressing community needs through its unique holistic approach to social care and tackling isolation, depression, and anxiety.

Recently honoured with the Southwark Stars Award 2024 for Supporting Residents During the Cost-of-Living Crisis, Share The Cost Global mission resonates deeply across the borough.

As the cost-of-living crisis continues to affect countless lives, STCG has stepped up, providing over 2,500 cost-of-living fund referrals, emergency food parcels, and extensive utility support this past year alone.

At the core of their services is the innovative ‘Pay It Forward’ model, a unique approach that empowers customers at the CommuniTea Café and Shop in Trinity College Centre, Camberwell to contribute towards the cost of meals for future patrons. A recent highlight was during the café’s Thursday service, where a single mother shared how the reduced-cost meals and warm environment had become a weekly relief for her family. This personal story illustrates the profound impact of STCG’s work, fostering a sense of empathy and connection among us all.

Additionally, STCG hosts a community hub every Sunday at LEX2, 567 Old Kent Road. This vibrant event features open mic sessions, fun games, and a relaxed, warm environment to help the community connect, reduce social isolation, anxiety, and depression, and access advocacy services.

STCG invites the community to join its efforts. Interested parties can find more information and get involved by visiting www.sharethecostglobal.com or following it on social media.

Through its dedicated work, Share The Cost Global continues to strengthen the fabric of the Southwark community. The organisation is a beacon of hope and an example of what can be achieved when compassion meets action.

As STCG looks to the future, it remains committed to expanding its reach and deepening its impact, ensuring everyone in Southwark can face life’s challenges with dignity and support.
