Community Southwark 2015 Training Programme

Community Southwark 2015 Training Programme
'I never knew that'

This year we have some excellent new development opportunities. This includes a variety of exciting ways in which you can access information and learn new skills, from mentoring to action learning sets, practical workshops and policy forums and drop-in surgeries and 1:1 intensive support.

Modular training

Having listened to your feedback we piloted a new and exciting modular approach last year, with 3 modules spread out over the year to give you a more in-depth understanding of the vital issues affecting your organisations and give you the time and space to think and talk to others. We are running these again this year:

  1. Business Planning and Project Management (May & June 2015)
  2. Income Generation (Sept & Oct 2015)
  3. Financial Management (Nov & Dec 2015)

Community Southwark courses have been developed based on our extensive knowledge and understanding of the voluntary and community sector and through participant feedback.

Through modules and one-off sessions we take a proactive approach to the challenges you face whilst ensuring an accessible and inclusive service in a flexible and supportive environment.

High Quality

All our training is delivered by suitably qualified trainers who offer a wealth of experience and up to date knowledge on current issues affecting your organisations – this way, you can be confident of a positive learning experience that aims to help your organisation be the best it can be.

We believe our training and other learning and development opportunities provides excellent value for money. We therefore strive to keep our training as affordable as we can without impacting on the quality. We also offer two bursaries per course for groups and organisations who may not be able to afford to attend otherwise.

The majority of the training programme is delivered by Community Southwark staff, bringing relevant knowledge and understanding of Southwark, the VCS and surrounding issues both local and national. We have also listened to feedback from previous courses and have designed the 2014/15 programme with subjects that meet the challenges of the sector.

We have a complimentary place available for each session for a member from two small volunteer led voluntary or community sector organisation based in Southwark through the Community Southwark Bursary Scheme. To be eligible for a place, you must be a Community Southwark member and the income of your organisation must be less than £25,000.
