12 Choirs of Christmas supports mental health and wellbeing by partnering community groups for people aged 50+ with primary schools across London to create 12 intergenerational choirs.
Each choir will be supported by a Musical Director and have two rehearsals before they perform their live Christmas concert in the festive surroundings of The Old Vic foyer. Each rehearsal can be hosted by either the school or the community group or we can hire a space if needed.
Concerts will be free and open to friends, family, and the local community.
Teachers and group leaders will have the opportunity to attend an additional musical training session to support their professional development.
Here are the key project dates:
- Teacher and leader meet and greet: Thu 05 Oct, 6pm–8pm
- Teacher and leader CPD session: Thu 02 Nov, 6pm–8pm
- Rehearsals – two rehearsals at a mutually convenient time and location: between 30 Oct and 24 Nov
- Concert and final rehearsal at The Old Vic: between 27 Nov and 15 Dec, morning
To apply, please complete this short application form by 12 noon on Thu 14 Sep. We recommend completing your application as soon as possible so that we can also recruit schools in your area.
