Pecan is a Christian organisation started by local churches. We help people who face seemingly impassable barriers to find a way through, to re-write their futures, to flourish.
We work with the most vulnerable people in the Peckham community – including ex-offenders and their families, people living with mental health issues and the long-term unemployed. We never stop believing that all people can achieve their God-given potential. And our work prompts transformation across the community We see those we work with as people who need supporting – not problems which need solving. We believe in unlocking people’s own potential. Which is why our projects address all the needs of our participants – social, material, emotional and spiritual.
We partner with local churches and advocate for those we work with, challenging inequality and injustice at a local and national level. Over the past 21 years we’ve seen 27,000 clients through our programmes.
