National HIV Testing Week is 10th-16th February

Southwark Public Health team are calling on people across Sothwark to test.
For further information, please contact Charlotte.Miller@Southwark.gov.uk

Southwark has high numbers of people who are diagnosed late with HIV and those individuals are more likely to be older Black individuals who may not seem themselves at risk of HIV.

We want to work with you to encourage people to test for HIV so they can quickly receive treatment and live a healthy normal life if their test is positive.

Testing is free and confidential. It’s also the only way to know if you have HIV and worth doing because people can live with HIV for a long time without any symptoms.

During National HIV Testing Week, you can order a free self-test, which you take yourself to get a result in just 15 minutes, or a postal test where you take a sample yourself and send it off to a lab who will then contact you with your result.

Southwark Public Health team will be hosting a range of free events for community groups and faith-based groups in Southwark from 10th-16th February to encourage people to test for HIV and to reduce HIV stigma. This includes online webinars, online drop-in sessions for community leaders to ask questions about HIV and in-person sessions at your community groups/venues.

If you would like to book a free event please contact Charlotte.Miller@southwark.gov.uk
