Did you know macular disease is the biggest cause of sight loss in the UK? It is a devastating condition and those affected are often unable to watch TV, read or recognise the faces of their friends and family.
Every year, Macular Week is an opportunity to show the impact of macular disease. This year, Macular Week 2024 runs from Monday, June 24 to Sunday, June 30 and is a chance to tell the rest of the world about life with the biggest cause of sight loss, raise awareness of the importance of good eye health and highlight why funding research to find a cure is vital.
The national charity the Macular Society offers practical and emotional support to people living with macular disease and their relatives, including more than 350 support groups across the UK.
The charity also funds groundbreaking research, to help find a cure.
There are many different ways you can get involved and raise funds to Beat Macular Disease.
