Step Out Mentoring are recruiting a Grant Fundraiser

Step Out  is an early intervention mentoring organisation that provides support for children and young people in the heart of South London through outdoor based 1:1 mentoring and group workshops.

We work with children and young people aged 8-18 who are disengaged with education and/or life. We work to support them in forging a way through life, encouraging them to thrive and become positive change makers in their communities

Job Description: Grant Fundraiser

We are seeking a Grant Fundraiser to help develop the work we do supporting young people.

Start Date: We would like this role to begin as soon as possible.

Interviews will take place mid April.

Salary guide: £150-£250 per day depending on experience.
Work pattern: 4 days a month (flexible). We are open to a range of applicants who are seeking different working models and will consider self-employed, freelancers and part-time.

You will be joining a small team working closely with the director and founder of Step Out Mentoring. Our office is based in Camberwell (Southwark) however hybrid working is available as well.

Job Purpose:
This is a new role within Step Out Mentoring as we begin to create our strategy of becoming a more financially sustainable project going forward. You will be working closely with the Director to develop and implement a fundraising strategy. The role will consist of helping us achieve the income to enable us to support vulnerable children and young people across the London Borough of Southwark. You’ll take responsibility for securing small and medium sized grants, so we’re looking for someone with a track record of successfully securing funding from trusts and foundations. As well as writing high quality funding applications, you’ll need to manage reporting and relationship management with the funders.
We also like all our staff to engage in the support that we provide for young people so that you understand the work that we do. So where possible we like all staff to mentor a young person as well as support us on trips and residentials throughout the year.
