ProudToBeMe is seeking a passionate and motivated Youth Engagement Officer / Project Coordinator to join our team in a part-time hybrid capacity.
This role focuses on engaging young people in our programs and initiatives while coordinating various projects that empower youth. The ideal candidate will be someone who has experience in youth engagement, community outreach, and project coordination, with the ability to work both remotely and in-person as needed.
Job Title: Youth Engagement Officer / Project Coordinator
Role Type: Part-Time (Hybrid)
Key Responsibilities:
1. Youth Engagement & Outreach:
Develop and implement strategies to actively engage young people in ProudToBeMe’s programs and initiatives.
o Source and build relationships with youth groups, schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
o Facilitate workshops, focus groups, and other activities designed to gather youth input and foster participation.
o Create engaging content and manage communication channels to connect with youth audiences (e.g., social media, newsletters).
2. Project Coordination:
o Assist in planning and executing youth-focused programs and events, ensuring they run smoothly and achieve desired outcomes.
o Coordinate logistics for events, workshops, and activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and participant communication.
o Track project progress, monitor timelines, and ensure key deliverables are met within scope and budget as per the project manager’s guidance.
o Support the development of project plans, reports, and documentation.
3. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
o Work closely with internal teams, including program managers, volunteers, and community partners, to deliver impactful projects.
o Liaise with external stakeholders, including funders, community organizations, and local youth networks, to enhance project reach and effectiveness.
o Act as a point of contact for participants, responding to inquiries and addressing needs promptly.
4. Data Collection & Reporting:
o Collect and analyze data on youth participation, program outcomes, and engagement metrics.
o Assist with grant reporting and funding applications by providing relevant project data and success stories.
5. Program Development & Improvement:
o Contribute to the design and development of new youth programs and initiatives, ensuring they are relevant, engaging, and aligned with organizational goals.
o Identify opportunities to enhance existing programs based on feedback and emerging trends in youth engagement.
Requirements:
• Proven experience in youth engagement, community outreach, or project coordination.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience in facilitating workshops or group activities.
• Ability to connect with and inspire young people from diverse backgrounds.
• Competency in using digital tools for communication, project management, and reporting.
• Flexibility to work both remotely and in-person as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Minimum A-level of qualification, or working towards degree or masters.
• Experience working with youth-focused organizations or in the nonprofit sector.
• Understanding of youth development principles and strategies for effective youth engagement.
• Knowledge of local community networks and resources that support youth development.
• Experience supporting and managing social media channels or digital campaigns targeted at young audiences.
Role Details:
• Hours: Part-time (15-20 hours per week).
• Work Arrangement: Hybrid, with a mix of remote work and in-person meetings or events as required.
