The Healthwatch team are looking for Advisory Board members to help steer their work. These are local people, who live or work in the community and can provide insights and guidance to the team.
While the team are eager to hear from anyone who can contribute to the Advisory Board and the work of Healthwatch Southwark, they are currently particularly interested in individuals with experience and knowledge in the areas of:
- Safeguarding
- Finance
- Income generation
- Marketing
- Stakeholder Engagement
Overview of the Role
The HWS Advisory Board plays a key oversight role, providing insight and guidance to the Healthwatch team. Comprised of local unpaid volunteers, the Advisory Board:
- ensures the involvement of local people in HWS work and decision-making,
- advises and decides on our strategy and priorities,
- helps with decisions about how to use our powers,
- upholds our independence,
- supports partnership working, and
- ensures the effective delivery of the HWS mission.
What is Healthwatch Southwark?
Healthwatch Southwark (HWS) is the local independent champion for the patient and public voice. They gather and represent the views of local users of health and social care services, in order to identify opportunities for improvement and to influence how providers deliver care. They are hosted by Community Southwark.
