New Walworth Road charity Shop needs volunteers

Councillor Lorraine Lauder MBE and Councillor Paul Fleming of Southwark Council officially opened Shaw Trust’s new charity shop in Walworth, on Friday 30th September. The charity shop, which forms part of Shaw Trust’s drive to raise money to support local residents in the area back into work, was opened during a ribbon cutting ceremony led by Councillor Lauder, alongside staff and volunteers.

Shaw Trust is a national employment, learning and skills charity that helps people to realise their ambitions and gain greater independence. The charity already runs social enterprise initiatives in Bromley and Harrow, delivering horticultural and wood recycling wood services, which make products such as shelving and furniture, that are sold in its charity shops.

It also delivers Work Programmes as both a prime and subcontractor across London and Work Choice as a subcontractor in London.
