As the UK's only national membership charity for carers, Carers UK is both a supportive community and a movement for change. For the past 50 years they've been driven by carers raising their voices together to call for change and seek recognition and support. They give carers expert advice, information and support. They campaign and innovate to find better ways to reach and support carers.
How can you get involved?
There are various ways to volunteer with Carers UK, some require a regular commitment, others are one off commitments and other roles can take just 2 hours a month. Roles include:
An Events Volunteer helps out at challenge and promotional events which raise funds and awareness for Carers UK – ensuring that all events are a success, fun and run smoothly. You can volunteer for as many or as few events as you like.
A Local Awareness Volunteer helps Carers UK connect with carers and promote awareness of caring by distributing publicity material – such as leaflets and posters – within local communities. They ask for a commitment of 2 hours volunteering per week but it's a very flexible role!
As a Workplace Champion you are the vital link between Carers UK and your colleagues. You’ll spread the word about caring and raise awareness of Carers UK in your workplace. By promoting events and campaigns you’ll be able to signpost those looking for support to the services and expert advice on offer.
A Social Media Volunteer helps to spread the message of Carers UK to those who need us through social media posts created for you.
