Fireworks Safety Advice from London Fire Brigade

Please share this information and advice with your communities, to make sure that they have the information they need to stay safe this fireworks season.
For further information, please contact community.engagement@london-fire.gov.uk

2024 was the busiest fireworks season for London Fire Brigade in 7 years, with 2,065 emergency calls on Halloween, Diwali and Bonfire Night alone. They are asking the public to follow their advice for keeping safe whilst celebrating.

London Fire Brigade are asking Londoners not to purchase fireworks for personal displays, and instead to attend an organised display. They have a map of these on their website, so you can find your closest one: https://www.london-fire.gov.uk/fireworks-map/?utm_source=Toolkit-Stakeholder

If you still decide to use fireworks, or if you celebrate with a bonfire or sparklers, please follow the advice on the Brigade’s website: https://www.london-fire.gov.uk/safety/fireworks/. And if your celebrations involve candles, please make sure to do this safely and responsibly to avoid starting a fire: https://www.london-fire.gov.uk/safety/the-home/candles/

Finally, Croydon Fire Station will once again be hosting a SEND-friendly Bonfire Night event on 2 November, and you can register here: https://LFB-Croydon-Bonfire-SEND.eventbrite.co.uk
