London Marathon 2019 - Six Charity Places

London Marathon 2019 - Six Charity Places

The 2019 Virgin Money London Marathon takes place on Sunday 28th April.

For the last few years Community Southwark has received 6 places for voluntary and community organisations in Southwark, which have been distributed through a ballot.

Last years runners raised more than £10,000 in total!

This year, Community Southwark have recived another 6 places to distribute to voluntary organisations in Southwark.

To give you the the best opportunity to identify potential runners and for them to get themselves into a training plan, we are calling out to all groups who would like to enter the ballot for 1 of these coveted places.

We can only give 1 place per organisation and the runner will have to pay for the place when signing up to the console (most organisations take this out of the final total raised).

How do I get in the ballot?
Simply email Steve Smith with the organisation name, a contact name, email and phone number.

What will happen then?
The ballot draw will take place on Monday 15th October at 12pm.

The winners must sign up using the Virgin Money portal when it opens (I will send out information on how to do this). It must be completed by the runner, by a deadline (again this will be provided), if you do not complete this process your place may be given to someone else.

If you are seeking help on fundraising, you can get tips on raising money through the Marathon in our factsheet or through the Virgin london Marathon website

What if we don't have a runner?

If you do not have a runner already primed, we may know of a few willing runners who missed out on a place in the main ballot; so please do get in touch and I can organise contacts.
