In July Antonia Swinson, CEO, Ethical Property Foundation, wrote a piece for us on the challenges facing the voluntary sector in negotiating and managing property leases.
We are delighted that Community Southwark has teamed up with UK’s leading property advice charity, the Ethical Property Foundation, and is delighted to offer a one-day property workshop on managing and negotiating leases for non-profit organisations in Southwark.
This event will consist of a workshop in the morning and then opportunities to attend a 1:1 advice clinic for those who want to discuss more confidential issues.
The event will include:
• The negotiation process
• Types of agreement – lease vs licence
• Heads of Terms – what do they mean?
• Common problem areas, such as rent review, break clauses
• Reviewing or terminating your lease
Plus many more useful, practical tips and advice on ensuring your property is a boost, not a burden to your organisation. We will use an interactive approach to consider individual circumstances and buildings, and real life examples from work with not for profit organisations across the country
Refreshments and lunch are included.
Book here
We are having to charge a small non-refundable fee to cover costs. This is set at £10 per person.
Places are very limited and given the interest in premises for the voluntary sector in Southwark we anticipate that places will fill up very quickly. Early booking is recommended.
This event is part of the National Programme for Property Education 2017-19.
