During the interactive training session, participants will gain the knowledge and confidence to be able to include children and young people with a vision impairment (VI) into their clubs, activities and sessions.
The session will provide an introductory understanding of some common eye conditions and their impact on the individual as well as myth-busting around sight loss. Key guidance around how to make your clubs, activities and sessions VI friendly will be provided, and there will be an opportunity to gain practical understanding of adapting virtual and physical activities to make them inclusive to children and young people with sight loss. Safeguarding and health & safety concerns will be addressed, and guidance will also be provided around proactively engaging with the VI community. The session will also welcome questions from participants.
Once learners have completed the online course, they can complete the accreditation workbook that is accredited by the Skills and Education Group (SEG) and once passed, will gain a certificate in the course
