Southwark residents – tell Southwark Council what you think of their research!

Do you live in Southwark? Are you 40 – 74 years old? If you answered yes to both these questions, then Southwark Council would like to hear what you think of their plans for a research study on Southwark’s new NHS Health Check service.

Southwark Council have developed a digital Health Check website, so Southwark residents will soon have the choice of completing their NHS Health Check online or at their GP practice. Researchers from the University of Bristol will be studying this new service to see how it is used by residents and what they think of it.

The research will take place next year (2023) but now we would like to hear what you think of our plans for the study.

What would this involve?

Southwark Council are inviting Southwark residents, aged 40-74, to take part in an online focus group, lasting up to an hour. In the focus group, a researcher will tell you what the is planned for the study and ask for your feedback.

Focus groups are planned for the week beginning 3rd October – time to be decided.

You will be offered a £30 gift voucher for taking part.

There may be an opportunity to take part further, by looking at some documents we have written for the study and/or joining our project steering group. You do not have to take part in these further activities if you do not want to.

The study is funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).
