Join VoiceAbility and Southwark Council to make clubs more accessible
VoiceAbility is working with Southwark Council and our team of young people, carers, and parents to improve the accessibility of evening, weekend, and holiday clubs. We want children and young people to have the choice of where they go and what they do.
This is the second year of working with clubs and groups to review what they might need to do to make some adjustments so that they are more accessible, and providing some funding (up to £800) to help make this happen! This can include both equipment and training needs. Sometimes a small reasonable adjustment can make a huge difference.
As part of this project, they are also running Speak, Share, Learn days – which bring together organisations that want to develop their work with disabled young people in Southwark. It’s a space where you can connect over the challenges as well as sharing best practice and developing the skills and knowledge needed to create more inclusive relationships and environments.
