About this event

Join SGTO their Residents Conference for 2022 – our first in three years!

This will be your chance to meet other residents and activists from across Southwark, and plan the SGTO’s priorities and actions for the year ahead. It is time for us to come together again and work for a better future for residents.

The event is taking place on Saturday 17th September, 9:30 – 5pm. The venue is The City of London Academy (Southwark), 240 Lynton Road, Bermondsey, SE1 5LA. The venue is on the bus routes 381 and P12. It is also walking distance from South Bermondsey station and the Old Kent Road.

This event is open to all council housing residents in the borough of Southwark. The two main themes of the conference are the following:

  • Resident Involvement
  • Repairs

We will also be conducting smaller workshops based around the following:

  • Supporting your TRA and your community – speaker: Dario Blake, Pelican Plus TRA
  • Knowing your rights as a Council Resident – speaker: Southwark Law Centre
  • Health and Wellbeing – speaker: TBC
  • Southwark Council and Energy Support – speaker: TBC

You will also have the chance to meet local organisations at our Market Place, including Southwark Pensioners Centre, Healthwatch Southwark, Southwark Council, and others.

Free refreshments and lunch will be provided. An agenda, poster, and speaker list will follow soon.

There are many ways to sign up. You can either email us at info@sgto.co.uk, call on 0207 639 6718, or sign up through SGTO Eventbrite page which you can access by clicking here.

Last but not least, SGTO need your help to promote the conference. Any help you can offer, whether it is calling residents, putting posters up on your estate, or just talking to your neighbours, would be greatly appreciated. We are stronger together.
