The Targeted Short Breaks Small Grants from Southwark Council is a great opportunity to get support from a key local Southwark funder.
This fund will provide small grants (between £1000 and £5000) to organisations wanting to deliver workshops, trips and/or family events for disabled young people (aged 5-19) during school holidays.
This session will provide more information about:
- What kinds of organisations can apply
- What kinds of projects and work will be prioritised
- How you can apply
- How to maximise your chance of success
You will also have a chance to ask your questions, and network with other organisations.
If you are unable to attend, but have a question you would like to ask, please let us know at info@communitysouthwark.org.
About the Fund
Grants of up to £5000 for organisations to deliver workshops, trips and/or family events during school holidays, so that families that include a disabled child or young person (aged 5-19) have a range of activities they can access during school holidays.
Eligible participants are young people who:
- Are aged 5-19 years
- Are a Southwark resident
- Have an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan)
- Are unable to access universal services due to level of need and/or require additional support
Funded activities can include:
- Workshops: one-off events or a series of events that provide opportunities for disabled children and young people (and/or their families) to participate in an enjoyable group activity that is based around developing new or existing skills
- Trips: group outings to interesting places that disabled children and young people (and/or their families) may not otherwise have the opportunity to visit, or which may be difficult for them to access without additional support
- Events: small or large-scale events that give children and young people (and their families) the opportunity to socialise, participate in a range of activities and have fun
Activities funded can run through until the end of March 2025.
Application deadline: midnight on Monday 6th May 2024.
If you have any questions please email thriveto25@southwark.gov.uk.
