This workshop is for groups based in Southwark or Lambeth, and great for newly established grassroot organisations or organisations thinking up becoming incorporated.
Community Southwark is excited to be working with ‘The Social Change Agency’ to bring you a workshop that covers:
• An overview of different types of organisation (ltd company, CIC, charity, unincorporated group)
• Some principles to consider when setting up (how do you want to make decisions, what kind of work do you do, how do you want to be funded – I generally always advise you figure this out first and then find a legal structure that works rather than incorporating too quickly and having to fit it round this)
• Intro to fiscal hosting (basically just a quick overview of how it works and why it allows groups to be unincorporated for longer)
• An overview of the support we can offer through our project (Community leadership in motion) and how we can help people set up new projects or make existing ones more sustainable.
