A practical session where you can try using Canva to create your own simple data visualisations.
Canva is a free online tool that you can use for a range of designs such as posters, flyers, social media posts and presentations.
But it’s also a great and easy to use tool to bring your data to life – visualising as infographics and simple charts.
This is a practical hands-on course. There will be mini tasks set during the course so you gain confidence in using Canva for infographics and chart creation.
This session will cover
- a demonstration of the key features
- essential design principles
- how to create simple designs with confidence
- how to download and share your creations
Pre-course requirement
If your organisation doesn’t already have a Canva account, please set one up before the training and please remember your log in details for the session! The basic account is free. We would recommend that you apply for the Canva Not for Profit scheme – which will give you access to lots of the ‘paid for’ features.
Who should attend this course?
This course is for anyone working or volunteering for a small London charity or community group who needs to use data to tell the stories of your work.
Please note priority will be given to Trust for London funded small charities & community groups in London, but places are available for other groups.
Course format
This is an online interactive live training session. You’ll take part in interactive exercises such as breakout room discussions, polls or chat conversations.
You will be asked to complete individual technical tasks on your PC or laptop. You will not be able to join this training using a mobile device. It’s likely that you will need to either create online accounts or download appropriate software, which we’ll tell you about in advance.
