This workshop will help participants understand the important role governance plays in your organisation’s:

· stability

· growth

· reputation

· fundraising

Participants will learn why governance matters, the roles and responsibilities of trustees and how to build a productive board, avoid, internal conflict and be mission-focused.

Who should attend:

This workshop is suitable for community organisations who have recently formed; If you need a refresher on the basics of good governance or are looking to steer your organsation onto a stable footing?

Attendees to arrive from 09:30am-10:00am for a 10:00am start.

Learning objectives
  1. Discover why governance matters and to whom.
  2. Gain a better understanding the role governance plays in your organisation’s stability, growth, reputation and fundraising.
  3. Know the importance of the six legal duties of trustees / management committee members.
  4. Develop techniques on how run effective trustee or management committee meetings.
