If you are setting up a new organisation or have been running one for a while, you may feel like you need to know more about your finances.

For many business owners, finances can be the most intimidating part of running a business. It can be the area they would like to get more comfortable with but they don’t know where to start.

If you would like to learn about what you need to know about finances so that you know what you need to and have meaningful conversations with your accountant and other key stakeholders in business.

This is for you if you are:

  • If you are a start-up and want to know what you need to have in place
  • If you are an existing business owner and do not feel comfortable with your accounts and finances. You perhaps outsource to an accountant that you speak to periodically over VAT returns and filing statutory accounts. Learn what financial information is key to your business.

Topics we will cover

  • Basic accounting records
  • Basic finance terminology
  • Accounting software
  • Basic Tax rules (Corporation Tax/Personal Tax/VAT)
  • What is financial planning

Please note: this session is aimed at businesses, but the core concepts are transferable to all charities and community groups.
