About this event

The second round of the Building Strong Communities Fund is now open, and the Ubele Initiative are offering free one-to-one support sesisons to help BAME-led organisation make an application..

Deborah Robinson, Fundraising Consultant at the Ubele Initiative – an African diaspora led infrastructure organisation, empowering Black and Minoritised communities in the UK – will be available for meetings of up to 40 minutes to discuss anything to do with this funding opportunity.

Organisations and individuals can book a slot to discuss their plans, how they should approach the application questions, their eligibility to apply or anything else.

These surgeries are offered by the Ubele Initiative to support Black, Asian and Minoritised Ethnic (BAME) led groups. The funding round is open to equity-led organisations – organisations where at least 75 per cent of the Trustees and at least 50 per cent of staff members have personal experience of the issues they are tackling, or the communities that their projects are supporting.

Support is available through other partners for LGBT+, Disabled or women-led groups – please see the Mayor’s Fund website for more details.

Meetings will be held on the top floor of the Community Southwark office in Bermondsey. This is only accessible by stairs, so if you would rather arrange a meeting on the ground floor please let us know when booking your ticket.
