Do you need a new website for your charity or community organisation? Join this free training from Superhighways to learn how to create one quickly and for free.
Voice is a free website builder available to all community, not-for-profit, and voluntary groups in the UK. It is used by hundreds of organisations including charities, schools, town and parish councils, sports clubs, and special interest groups.
This two-day training course will equip you with the key skills you need to create and develop a new website for your community organisation.
By the end of the training you will have a basic website structure. You can add your own information. However, there will be practice materials available so that you can gain confidence in adding pages and editing them.
Unless your website is very simple, you are unlikely to finish your website in two days. However, we offer one-to-one support to help you complete your website ready for launch.
This session will cover
- create your Voice website
- add pages
- add and edit text, links, photos
- arrange the layout of your pages
- discover good practice in website design
Eligibility
You do not need experience of creating or updating websites. You will need basic computer and internet skills. To take part in exercises you will need to join this session from a desktop device such as a laptop or computer.
You will be asked to complete individual technical tasks on your PC or laptop. You will not be able to join this training using a mobile device. It’s likely that you will need to either create online accounts or download appropriate software, which we’ll tell you about in advance.
Priority is given to people working or volunteering for refugee community and equality organisations.
Course dates
It takes place on Thursday 2 November and Friday 3 November, 9.30am to 4.30pm. You will need to attend both days. There will be plenty of breaks and time to complete tasks during the training.
There is also a more spread out course to build your website in 7 weeks, which starts on 25 October. Find out more and book to take part on their website.
