Join this Q&A with Southwark Council to find out more about the funding available for events to celebrate Black History Month this October.

As part of the annual celebration, Southwark Council are offering grants of up to £2,499 to local charities and community groups, to help them put on events and activities that provide insight into the history and culture of the African, Caribbean and diaspora communities in Southwark.

The theme for this year is: Black Joy. Whilst it is not compulsory to incorporate the theme into your event, applications demonstrating links to the theme will be advantaged.

Groups can apply for smaller amounts of funding for smaller events, with levels up to £500, up to £2,000 or the full amount of £2,499.

In this session, they will be explaining in more detail what funds can be used for, who can apply and what the process is. You can also find out more, including the detailed guidance document, on the Southwark Council website.
