Healthwatch Southwark have just shared their latest report, “Empowering Voices: Examining Healthcare Access for Adults with Learning Disabilities and Autistic Adults.”
This research was driven by evidence that adults with learning disabilities face poorer health outcomes compared to adults who do not have a learning disability. The findings reveal widespread barriers to healthcare, particularly within GPs and A&E. Healthwatch worked together with community members to produce recommendations for care providers to improve their services.
