Drawing Room is the UK’s primary institution dedicated to drawing and has over 20 years of curatorial excellence. On September 22nd, Drawing Room is opening a brand new gallery space in Bermondsey, and in preparation for this, we are now hiring for a new pool of Gallery Assistants.
Our team of Gallery Assistants will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of Drawing Room’s gallery spaces and shop, acting as the main point of contact and public face of the gallery during opening hours. Our vision is to establish Drawing Room as an arts venue in Bermondsey that is cherished by its local community, visitors and staff alike – our team of Gallery Assistants will be instrumental in making this vision a reality.
This role would be particularly suitable for early-career arts professionals (of any age) looking to gain professional experience within a growing and ambitious arts organisation. The responsibilities of this role will be primarily Front of House focused, but there will also be scope to develop new skills assisting with Drawing Room’s communications, events and exhibitions management.
We particularly encourage applications from candidates who are local to Bermondsey and Southwark.
Salary: £11.95 per hour (London Living Wage)
Hours: 1-4 days per week/Flexible (Freelance position)

Start date: From Thursday September 21st (rota dependent)
