Under its Human Rights Advancement mandate, CAD-HR seeks to increase access to free legal services for everyone in the UK through its Community Lawyer and Community Legal Services Network Programmes.

Community Legal Services covers immigration, employment, housing, family, consumer rights, regulatory compliance (Ofsted, CQC, TfL for Uber Drivers, etc.), administrative (challenging local authority and public bodies’ decisions), and property (for small businesses) among others.

London South Bank University is helping CAD-HR develop a “Community LawTech (CLawT)” software that will be used to access accredited Community Lawyers based on location, cultural background, or language. Services users will be matched with Community Lawyers from the same or similar backgrounds to eliminate the need for an interpreter.

Charities and voluntary organisations must be part of the Community Legal Services Network before they or their beneficiaries can access the Community Lawyers.
