Dear CS members,
We are pleased to inform you Community Southwark has sent a letter to Southwark Council, (before Christmas), to request them to increase funding towards ‘currently funded’ Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) groups. This is to help towards covering salary inflation costs that have incurred during this crisis, as we know many VCS staff are struggling to make ends meet. We are aware the Council have increased their staff’s salary during these challenging times. Therefore, it is only right for us to request the same treatment.
We have asked the 31 Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) groups which receive Common Purpose grants and the three which have Communities contracts to sign the letter. We are now planning to have conversations with Southwark Council to follow up on this matter. We will continue to keep you updated.
