Guidelines for Advertising a Volunteer Opportunity with Community Southwark Volunteer

Guidelines for Advertising a Volunteer Role with Community Southwark Volunteer

Below are the provider guidelines which you agree to abide by when signing up to Community Southwark Volunteer.

1. You must be a member of Community Southwark to advertise on Community Southwark Volunteer. Membership is free, open to not-for-profit organisations operating in Southwark and it takes 5 minutes to complete your application. Your membership application will go through a screening process but your volunteer advert can, subject to the advert’s approval, be published while your membership is pending. Join Community Southwark as a member.

2.  Your volunteer role will be read and approved by one of our team before it is published. We aim to feature high quality roles for volunteers signing up to our platform. If we have concerns about the role or recommend changes to the content, we will contact you to make changes.

3. Please ensure you are clear on the definition of volunteering vs employment before submitting your role. All roles submitted must be true volunteer roles.

4. We strongly recommend you have the following policies in place before recruiting volunteers. Community Southwark can support you to create these policies if you do not have them.

– Equity/ Equality and Inclusion Policy
– Volunteering Policy
– Health and Safety Policy
– Confidentiality Policy

5. When recruiting volunteers through the platform, your organisation accepts the responsibility for performing all necessary checks. Community Southwark Volunteer is open access, meaning anyone can sign up. For this reason, Community Southwark cannot be held responsible for the actions or character of any volunteers encountered through the platform.
