Alex, our VCS Support Officer, tells us about his role: “helping groups like you to be more effective, connected and financially sustainable – or to achieve whatever your goals might be!”
Hi everyone, My name is Alex and I am a VCS Support Officer here at Community Southwark.
As the name suggests my role is all about supporting the voluntary and community sector, helping groups like you to be more effective, connected and financially sustainable – or to achieve whatever your goals might be! This support can come in all shapes and sizes, from answering one-off queries via the info@communitysouthwark.org helpdesk, or undertaking longer term casework via organisational support appointments.
Alongside my colleagues in the VCS Support Team I am also responsible for running our training and events programme, which again can range from short sessions such as our half hour Funder Q+A events, to full day conferences, such as our recent Funding Conference. All of this is driven by the needs and suggestions of you, our Community Southwark members. So please don’t hesitate to let me know what you or your organisation need more support with.
We will have more training events coming up very soon, so please keep an eye on your inboxes and our website – and do let me know if you spot anything good you think more people should know about. I have met and worked with so many fantastic individuals and organisations in the short few months I have been in this role, and really look forward to getting to know more of you over the coming months.
