In this month's Income Generation bulletin find out about issues making the news from the sector and upcoming funding opportunities and deadlines, including the following opportunities:

United St Saviour's Charity - Community Investment & Engagement Programmes  

The Community Investment programme is a large grants scheme for projects costing over £5,000 and starting from August 2018. There's a two-stage application process, with an initial expression of interest. The Community Engagement programme is a small grants scheme, for projects up to £5,000. Your projects should help to achieve the aims of its 3 priority themes:
• Strong, Resilient Communities: connecting, enabling and strengthening communities (of place and of interest) in north Southwark
• Positive Ageing: reducing isolation and increasing wellbeing amongst north Southwark’s older residents
• Levelling the Playing Field: supporting population groups disproportionately experiencing social and economic disadvantage.
Deadlines: Community Investment: EOI – 29 March 2018 (noon)
                   Community Engagement 29 March 2018 (noon)

Comic Relief - Core Strength
Locally-led and based organisations can apply for grants of £1,000 to £10,000 to support organisational overheads and their development. Your work should fit within the following funder’s priorities: Connected communities, Productive communities, Empowered communities. Your annual income in the last financial year should be £100,000 or under.
Deadline: 26 February 2018 (5pm)

BBC Children in Need - Small Grants
Grants for community organisations working with children and young people of 18 years and under experiencing disadvantage through: Illness, distress, abuse or neglect; any kind of disability; behavioural or psychological difficulties; living in poverty or situations of deprivation. Projects can can apply for up to £10,000 per year for up to 3 years for projects. 
Deadline: 1 March 2018

People's Postcode Lottery grants
Grants of up to £2,000 (constituted groups) and £20,000 (registered charities) are available for projects that focus on the following areas: Employability & skills development programmes; Promotion of human rights through combatting discrimination; Poverty prevention. Involves a two-stage application process, with a short stage 1 Expression of Interest (EOI).
Deadline – EOI: 14 February 2018
